Essay Contest for IndiaFest 2018

IndiaFest 2018 Committee and Palm Beach India Association are sponsoring an essay contest to promote an awareness of India’s rich cultural heritage. The essay contest is open to students of South Florida schools

Essay topic

The students are asked to write an essay on the question described below in accordance to the current year of school they are in attendance. 

Categories Essay Length Criteria for All Categories Judging
Students in grades 1 through 5 Entries should contain up to 500 words Essays evaluated on content (70%), style (20%), and grammar (10%) Committee comprised of school teachers
Students in grades 6 through 8 Entries should contain up to 1000 words
Students in grades 9 through 12 Entries should contain up to 1500 words

Submission deadline: Midnight, Thursday, February 1st, 2018. |  Submission must be sent by email to: essay@sfindiafest.org

Category 1 : Elementary School (Grades 1 through 5)

1. Who is your favorite Historical Indian hero and why?
2. What is your favorite Indian festival and why?
3. What is your favorite part of India to visit?

IndiaFEST is a way for PBIA to display the rich, ethnic, and cultural diversity of India. This festival has become one of the premier events to occur in South Florida, with over 15,000 people attending every year.
